In the Spring of 1989, several members of our beloved sorority who resided in the Hayward-Tri-City area began discussions on chartering a chapter in their area.  At this time only African - American churches provided public service to the tri-cities and were the only groups to address the specific needs of the African - American Community. This desire and need to serve the communities was the beginning of the Hayward-Tri-City Alumnae Chapter.

On March 2, 1990 Hayward-Tri-City Alumnae Chapter was chartered in Sacramento, CA by twenty members.

The chapter was chartered by then Farwest Regional Director, Soror June LaVerne Long and Immediate Past Regional Director, Gwendolyn Bishop.
